CS alumni accounts
MS alumni
If you have graduated from the department with a master's degree, you
are entitled to keep your accounts for six months after graduation.
After the six month
period, you are entitled to access to the department alumni server
indefinitely. Please email staff@cs.umd.edu to request an account there if you would like one.
Ph.D. alumni
If you have graduated from the department with a Ph.D., you are
entitled to keep your accounts for twelve months after graduation.
After the twelve month
period, you are entitled to access to the department alumni server
indefinitely. Please email staff@cs.umd.edu to request an account there if you would like one.
The alumni server
Alumni accounts are on alumni.cs.umd.edu.
Alumni accounts may keep their original CS username and E-mail address.
You cannot keep your CS web page, but we can set up a redirect for
you so that your old CS URL points to a new web site. We can only
do this for you once -- we can't keep updating it for you. You should
try to advertise that your home page site has changed so that you
wean off of the CS redirect.
Alumni accounts have a small quota, 50 MB. It's unlikely your
old CS data will fit into this quota, so you should copy your
data to a CDROM or a remote site.
Sorry, but we cannot provide technical assistance for alumni accounts beyond
major "the computer is down" type problems.
